SoGEA
Single order Generic Ethernet Access (SoGEA) is fast, reliable fibre broadband delivered without a phone line. This means you don’t need to pay separately for voice and broadband. It’s a long-term replacement for FTTC.
Benefits:
High-quality connection
Our SoGEA service can reach download speeds of up to 330Mbps, with enough bandwidth and resilience to support all-IP voice services.
Cost-effective
SoGEA can offer better performance than FTTC broadband, but with no phone line required. This makes it quick to install, and saves on line rental costs.
Futureproof
BT Openreach is switching off ISDN and PSTN phone lines by 2025 – SoGEA delivers a connection without them, futureproofing your business.
FTTP
Fibre to the premises (FTTP) offers high-grade business connectivity. Instead of connecting via a local cabinet, your fibre broadband connects directly from the local exchange to your site. Perfect for data-hungry businesses, this gives outstanding speed, bandwidth and resilience.
Benefits:
Ultra-fast speeds
FTTP is an all-fibre service that can reach speeds of 1Gbps. This makes it perfect for any business with high data needs.
Improved productivity
FTTP delivers low latency and high bandwidth, allowing multiple users to upload and download large files all day without slowing down.
Resilience
Since it’s all-fibre, FTTP doesn’t require any copper wires. This makes it less prone to faults, offering true business continuity.
FTTC
Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) offers good, cost-effective connectivity to businesses with lower data requirements. The downside is that it relies on PSTN copper lines, which will be decommissioned by 2025. So while it’s still a good option for smaller businesses, it’s not as futureproof as SoGEA.
Benefits:
Cost-effective
FTTC uses existing PSTN copper lines, making it less expensive to install than FTTP. But this is a shorter-term benefit, as PSTN is being switched off in 2025.
Widely available
Enterprise-grade options like FTTP are great, but mostly only available in bigger cities. FTTC is an option in most parts of the UK.
High speeds
Download speeds of up to 80Mbps are more than enough for smaller businesses without significant data requirements.
Ethernet
Also known as a leased line, this offers enterprise-grade, dedicated internet access via a superfast Ethernet cable. With fixed bandwidth, uncapped usage and a private connection, this is the peak of business connectivity!
Benefits:
Ultra-high performance
Bandwidth is fixed, speeds are high, and you’re not sharing the line with any other business. This gives peerless performance and uptime.
Symmetrical speeds
Unlike other connectivity services, your leased line provides equal upload and download speeds up to 10Gbps. This makes it much faster to share even the largest files.
Security
Your Ethernet connection is private. This means there’s no public traffic, and it’s much harder for anyone to intercept your data.
